we learned this cheer at camp and have some really cute moves for it but even as a freshman, and this being the first year as a cheerleader I think we need some better cheers! last year our squad started with 15 girls and by the end of football season we had 5 girls and our cheers were horrible...any help?!

Before homecoming we always have spirit week where we dress up differently each day. (i.e. Monday is camo day Tuesday is 80s day etc.) And then on friday it's pirate day where we dress up for our team. We also decorate lockers and smile and yell as loud as we can to pump up the crowd. We also have a dance routine to "Cotton Eye Joe" which gets the crowd pretty excited.

After many preliminary meetings with such music production consultants as Randy spamey of famous competitive cheerleading movie "Bring It On" and Billy Smith of Spirit Celebration, Cheer Music & More (a gymnastics and dance music routine company in Dallas) feels it has what it takes to create the BEST 8 count music routines the industry has to offer!
We'll let you in on some of our secrets...
The first step to producing a one of a kind cheerleading music routine is to have a vast library of unique sound effects to interlace within the music. Granted cheer music is just as high octane, loud, exciting, and equally exhilarating as the sport itself, however this does not mean the quality is any less important! Cheer mixing engineers should pay the same attention to detail as choreographers in constructing their routines, and thus a high fidelity DAW audio editor is necessary (such as Pro Tools HD, or Ableton Live.)
Step two... voiceovers, voiceovers, voiceovers! The voice is an acoustic instrument which means that it is excited and flattered by great acoustic environments! RadioShack microphones will not do!!!! Precision audio equipment must be used to create the absolute best mix as possible. As cheerleading and gym coaches, you know how important it is to make no compromises and settle for nothing but the best, so why should something as crucial as your teams winning music be any different?!?!
Moving on to step three we approach the tedious element of SONG SELECTION. This is often one of the most under looked and most abused elements of cheer music production because of the emphasis and dire need for CREATIVITY. Not only does a music producer/audio engineer have to balance the technical element of manipulating sonic waveforms on the computer, but they have to implement song production skills so often used in the music industry to create seamless builds and breaks to complement YOUR CUSTOM CHOREOGRAPHY ROUTINES!!!!!
To find out the final step of the cheer mix construction, you will have to go to cheermusicandmore.com to see How To videos hear samples!

I personally know how frustrating it is to have uncooperative teammates. It gets really old really fast! Also, it brings down the rest of the team and puts them in a bad mood. I agree with simpson27 on this one. Talking to your coach about the situation would be the best idea. Confronting your teammate about the problem could lead to arguing and could get out of hand. Informing your coach about your concerns will not only keep you and your teammate from fighting, but it will also show your coach your maturity in how you handled the situation.
